Andrea Claudia Freitas Ferreira is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Duque de Caxias Campus, and a Scientist of Our State (CNE-FAPERJ). She is a pharmacist graduated from the Faculty of Pharmacy, UFRJ. She holds a Master's degree in Biological Sciences (Physiology) and a Ph.D. in Sciences, both from the Carlos Chagas Filho Institute of Biophysics, UFRJ, under the supervision of Professor Denise Pires de Carvalho. She completed her post-doctorate at the University of Pisa, Italy, under the supervision of Dr. Massimo Tonacchera. She has experience in the field of Physiology, with an emphasis on Endocrine Physiology, working mainly on the following topics: endocrine disruptors; intermittent fasting, and redox balance.
